Other Classes & Workshops-
Learn. Practice. Refine.

Focused, skill-specific training designed to deepen understanding, sharpen technique, and tackle targeted goals. These short-format classes and workshops give you practical tools, structured practice, and expert guidance for the areas you want to refine most.

Tackling Reactivity —        4 weeks | Audit slots $175 | Working slots $300

Tackling Reactivity

Many dogs struggle in public not because they “don’t know” their cues, but because they have difficulty managing arousal, stress, or big feelings around triggers like people, dogs, or busy environments.

Tackling Reactivity is designed to build foundational skills that support dogs who struggle with arousal or mild reactivity — this is not a behavior-modification or “fix-it” class. The focus is on giving handlers practical tools, clear handling strategies, and structured practice that you can continue to apply at home and in everyday life.

The class is structured so teams first build skills in a controlled facility environment before transitioning to a real-world setting for guided learning.

Goals

The goal of Tackling Reactivity is to help dogs and handlers:

  • Improve emotional regulation and impulse control

  • Learn to disengage from triggers rather than fixate

  • Respond more reliably to known cues around distractions

  • Build confidence in public environments

  • Develop clearer handler timing, awareness, and decision-making

  • Add effective tools to their training “toolbox” for long-term progress

Our Approach for This Class

Tackling Reactivity blends structured obedience, emotional regulation work, and practical management strategies so teams learn how to think and adapt — not just follow cues.

Training emphasizes:

  • Teaching dogs to notice a trigger and choose to disengage

  • Gradual, controlled exposure to challenging situations

  • Clear, consistent handling and communication

  • Reinforcing calm, thoughtful behavior instead of impulsive reactions

  • Helping handlers read arousal, manage environments, and intervene effectively

This approach gives both dog and handler a stronger, more usable toolkit for navigating challenging situations with greater confidence and clarity.

How It Works

Tackling Reactivity is a 4-week class with a structured progression from facility-based training to real-world application.

This class includes:

  • Three (3) ninety minute sessions in the training facility with your dog, where teams work on:

    • Emergency behaviors

    • Foundational skills for managing arousal

    • Home-management strategies

    • Impulse control and emotional regulation

    • Relevant obedience skills for public settings

  • Training techniques introduced in these sessions:

    • Redirection

    • Disengagement

    • Counter-conditioning

    • Handler focus, timing, and awareness

  • One (1) final handler-only session in a public setting (without dogs)

    • Instructors will demonstrate how to begin working through real-world triggers

    • Handlers will learn how to set up training scenarios, manage distance, and apply their tools in everyday environments

    • This session focuses on planning, timing, and decision-making rather than working dogs directly

  • Weekly at-home practice guidelines to reinforce learning between sessions

Format & Pricing

  • 4-week class

  • Working Slot — $300 (4 spots available)
Hands-on participation with your dog during facility sessions plus the handler-only field session.

  • Audit Slot — $175 (6 spots available)
Observe, learn, and take notes during facility sessions and attend the handler-only field session.

Who This Class Is (and Is Not) For

This class is a good fit for:

  • Dogs who become over-aroused, frustrated, or mildly reactive in public

  • Teams who want clearer tools for managing behavior in real-world settings

  • Handlers looking to improve timing, awareness, and consistency

  • Dogs who can still function in a structured group environment

This class is NOT:

  • A behavior-modification or reactivity rehabilitation program

  • A replacement for private training for dogs with severe reactivity or aggression

E-Collar Conditioning —                     6 weeks| $350

E-Collar Conditioning

Clear communication is the foundation of reliable, off-leash obedience.

Our E-Collar Conditioning class is designed to help you and your dog communicate more effectively using the e-collar as a fair, consistent, and humane training tool — not punishment. This class starts at the foundation level, pairing low-level stimulation with known cues so your dog clearly understands what the collar means and how to respond.

By the end of this course, you will have improved timing, greater clarity in your handling, and a dog who responds more confidently and reliably both on and off leash.

Goal

The goal of E-Collar Conditioning is to help dogs and handlers:

  • Improve clarity and consistency in communication

  • Strengthen reliability on known cues

  • Build a clear understanding of e-collar meaning and application

  • Transition more smoothly from leash to off-leash work

  • Maintain confidence and calmness in training

  • Increase reliability around distractions

Our Approach for This Class

E-Collar Conditioning focuses on structured, low-level conditioning paired with clear training mechanics.

Training emphasizes:

  • Proper understanding of e-collar function before application

  • Pairing stimulation with known commands to create clarity

  • Gradual progression from leash to off-leash reliability

  • Precise handler timing and communication

  • Maintaining a calm, confident mindset in the dog throughout training

This approach ensures the e-collar is used as a communication tool that enhances training rather than creating confusion or stress.

  • Four (4) one-hour group training sessions

  • Skills and concepts including:

    • Understanding e-collar mechanics

Conformation Handling

Conformation Handling —                                    $10

Presenting your dog well in the show ring is as much about handling skills as it is about the dog.

Our Conformation Handling class is a structured, skill-building course focused on teaching both dogs and handlers the fundamentals of the show ring. This is a handling class — not a Show & Go. We break down mechanics, build confidence, and develop clear communication so teams are prepared to present their dogs thoughtfully, accurately, and with professionalism.

Because this is an ongoing weekly class, teams can develop and refine their skills over time, rather than trying to master everything in a short series.

Goal

The goal of Conformation Handling is to help dogs and handlers:

  • Develop clear, effective handling mechanics

  • Present dogs confidently and correctly in the ring

  • Build focus and engagement in a show-like environment

  • Improve timing, positioning, and communication

  • Reduce handler stress and increase clarity in the ring

  • Prepare for real competition settings with polished skills

Our Approach for This Class

Conformation Handling blends technical instruction with practical ring experience so teams learn both what to do and why.

Training emphasizes:

  • Clear, step-by-step instruction on handling mechanics

  • Repetition of core skills to build muscle memory for handlers

  • Gradual increases in distraction and “ring pressure”

  • Positive, confidence-building experiences for dogs

  • Coaching on body positioning, lead handling, and presentation

This approach helps teams develop smooth, professional handling while keeping training fair, clear, and motivating for the dog.

How It Works

Conformation Handling is an ongoing weekly group class designed for continuous skill development and ring readiness.

Each session may include work on:

  • Free stacking

  • Hand stacking

  • Examination skills (table or ground, as appropriate)

  • Gaiting and ring patterns

  • Ring etiquette and sportsmanship

  • Handler mechanics and timing

  • Building focus and engagement in a ring environment

  • Managing distractions and ring pressure

Sessions are structured but flexible, allowing instructors to tailor coaching based on the needs of each team.

Best For

This class is a good fit for:

  • New handlers preparing for their first shows

  • Young dogs learning ring expectations

  • Teams who want cleaner presentation and better teamwork

  • Handlers who want ongoing practice and refinement
